Neal Communities Donates to Sarasota Heat Softball Team
SARASOTA, Fla., April 14, 2011 - Neal Communities is the premier tournament sponsor for the Sarasota Heat 4th Annual Golf Tournament. The Sarasota Heat 14/Under Girls Fastpitch Softball Team is a non-profit organization that provides an opportunity for girls to play softball. The golf tournament takes place April 23 at Legacy Golf Club in Lakewood Ranch.
“We have long been supporters of organizations that help our young people. Sports are a wonderful way to teach them about teamwork, discipline, respect and work ethic,” says Neal Communities President Pat Neal. “These are values that are important for any community.”
The funds raised from the golf tournament will be used to help send the team to Midland, TX for the American Softball Association national tournament in July. “The girls will compete against some of the best teams in their age division from all over the United States,” explains team manager Jackie Rak.
The relationship between the Sarasota Heat and Neal Communities started with Mark Mulder, who owns Ocean Blue pool company, a trade partner with Neal. Mark’s daughter Kahlie plays with the team. “He is a good contractor and we like to support those in our extended family who are involved with the community,” comments Neal.

The HEAT organization was established in 1998 and fields teams in almost every age division. The majority of the girls on the Heat '97 team have been traveling together for 6+ years.
