Boca Royale Golf and Country Club to Transition to Private Club
ENGLEWOOD, Fla., (June 26, 2026) - Boca Royale Golf and Country Club will celebrate its transition to a Non-Equity Private Country Club on July 1 at 10 a.m. with an event featuring Neal Communities owner and chairman Pat Neal and a ribbon-cutting ceremony.
“With the continued growth of our community, recent renovations to the clubhouse. the completely rebuilt golf course and the additional pickleball courts, this transition marks an exciting new chapter for Boca Royale,” says Doug Foote, general manager of Boca Royale Golf and Country Club. On July 1st, Boca Royale Golf and Country Club will reach a new milestone in our 60th year. With support of Pat and Charlene Neal and the Boca Royale community the Country Club will change from a Semi-Private to a Private Country club facility for its members and invited guests. The Club will continue to offer access with events, such as holiday parties, weddings and meetings to the local community.”
Transitioning to a private club enhances member access to the golf course, tee times, and dining, while also supporting the long-term sustainability and overall value of the club experience, according to Foote.
Neal Communities purchased Boca Royale Golf and Country Club in 2012 and since has added multiple phases of development. In late 2024, Neal Communities completed a total renovation of the 18-hole golf course, designed by golf course architect Gordy Lewis. The course was fully rebuilt as the old layout was demolished and a new course built from scratch. The new layout is a par 71 measuring just over 6,600 yards from the back tees. New homes are available in the Boca Royale Golf & Country Club, with offerings from Neal Communities and Neal Signature Homes.
Beginning as a cattle ranch in 1965, F. Riker Clark received approval to build an 18-hole golf course first opening as a nine-hole course in January of 1966 with the back nine added in 1967. Originally named Englewood Golf and Country Club, and later Boca Royale Golf and Country Club, the community has grown and transformed over the decades.
